Q.What are benefits of ALLIED KOOLMAX?

A. Allied Koolmax is a Solar Heat reflective Paint – which means that it is capable of reflecting maximum amount of Sun Rays that falls on it, thus reducing the surface temperature and the temperature of the room beneath it.

It is an innovative solution from Allied Metallurgical for countries where the mercury soars in summer.

Q. What makes ALLIED KOOLMAX different from others?

Ability of a paint to reflect sunlight is determined by a scientific property known as Solar Reflectance Index ( SRI ).The maximum value of SRI can be 130.ALLIED KOOLMAX’s SRI value is more than 120 which is one of the best SRI values achievable in the product.

Q. What are the expected temperature drops?

Based on the initial field trials with Allied Koolmax in places like Rajasthan, Chennai and Chhattisgarh, the room temperature drops have ranged from 3-8 deg C.Surface temperature drops can range from 8-10 deg C.No specific temperature drops can be guaranteed as temperature drops are governed by various ambient thermal conditions, type and condition of roof/floor surfaces and other factors.

Q.Is it waterproof ?

Yes it is definitely waterproof.It is as much water resistant as any waterproof household paint or any other waterproof paint

Q.How long will a painted surface with ALLIED KOOLMAX last or in other words what will be its life? Is there any warranty?

For normal household conditions where fewer people are walking on the surface or no heavy equipments are moving, the paint is expected to last for about 2 years minimum. For more severe conditions, the life will be lower. As of now there is no warranty. However we will be keen on receiving your feedback to continuously improve the product as per your changing needs.

 Q.On what kind of surfaces can ALLIED KOOLMAX be applied?

Concrete/Cement, Galvanised sheets, Other Metals, Asbestos, Wood etc.

Q. What is the unit of selling for ALLIED KOOLMAX?

Kilogram (Kg).Please note that we are not selling in Litres which is generally the norm for household and other paints

Q.What is the coverage of ALLIED KOOLMAX? How can u estimate its consumption?

Generally it varies from 25-30 Sq feet/Kg of surface area for two coatings of paint. For example, for a 1000 sq feet of roof/floor area, the consumption will be 1000/25 = 40 kgs of ALLIED KOOLMAX.The consumption is an indicative one and will be determined by the material nature of the surface and its extent of roughness and imperfections.Generally the consumption is lower for a smooth surface and higher for a rough surface.

Q. How is ALLIED KOOLMAX applied?

Remove the bucket lid

Mix water ( normal tap water ) about 20% of the weight of paint .For example for 20 kgs bucket mix about 4 kg of water

Mix the water thoroughly till the product attains a paintable consistency

Clean the surface to be painted to completely remove dust/debris, oil, moss,Use water if necessary to clean thoroughly.Repair large cracks with suitable putty.

Use brush or roller to paint the first coat.

Wait for about 2 hours (will depend upon the ambient temperature) till dry

Apply the second coat ensuring that the surface is completely white and no original roof surface is visible

Wait till the surface is completely dry.

Q.Is ALLIED KOOLMAX environment friendly?Is it safe to use ?

Yes definitely. It is actually a totally green product. Reasons -One that it is water based paint and does not contain health hazards causing ingredients like alcohol and spirits.

Secondly ALLIED KOOLMAX can reduce the use of air conditioners, which are known to emit hazardous chemicals like CFC and HCFCs

ALLIED KOOLMAX is as much safe as any other water based paint.Safety Data Sheets can be provided on specific request mentioning its purpose.

Q. Is ALLIED KOOLMAX available in multiple colours?

Unfortunately no. The Solar Reflectance property of the product is enhanced only by the white colour
